Description
Your cycling route starts at Stadsboerderij de Balijhoeve, a petting zoo in the Balijbos. Part of the Balijbos is beautifully rugged. From here you cycle to the Rottemeren, which consist of several lakes that are connected to each other. Tweemanspolder mill no. 4, further on, is a beautiful octagonal ground sailor from 1722. The mill drains the Tweemanspolder together with three other mills. The mill was completely restored in 2009. Close by is the Tweemanspolder no. 3, also an octagonal ground sailor, but it is seventy years younger than number 4. You will discover the Bovenm at the Meerpolder. Zoetermeersepolder (rump/remains). Only the mill hull of this upper mill can be seen, with a house. It is the oldest reclaimed land in this region!
