Orange Route

This walking route starts at Restaurant Watermolen Bels. This restaurant has a nice terrace, but you should really take a look inside because you step back in time. It is beautifully situated in the Mosbeek Valley, a nice region for hikers thanks to the landscape variation and the walking route network that you will find here. You walk through the silent forests on the Galgenberg, an almost 70 meter high hill that owes its name to the executions that took place here in the Middle Ages. You can also see tufts of heather here and there. Between the Mosbeek and the Galgenberg you can enjoy the rolling Twente ash landscape. Here you will pass some characteristic farms that have withstood the test of time.
