The silence of the Twente-German border area

It is wonderfully peaceful to cycle in the Twente-German border area. You will find plenty of natural beauty here, such as the Witte Veen. This nature reserve is a remnant of what was once a much larger raised bog area. No wonder you get the feeling of driving back in time here! You cycle along and exactly across the border to the Aamsveen, a cross-border nature reserve of wet swamp forests, heathland and poor grassland. You cycle a few kilometers through Germany. Here too you can enjoy the landscape and the tranquility. You will pass the Haarmühle, a 350 year old water mill. Further on you cycle through the charming Altstätte. From here, wood from the Münsterland was transported to the VOC shipyards. You drive back to Boerderijcamping De Beek via the Lüntener Bos.
