Large round Loonse and Drunense Dunes

This bike tour starts with a cup of coffee at Pancake restaurant De Finance. Enjoy a pancake here immediately, then you have a good base for today's bike ride! Then you take a long tour through the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park, a 3,500-hectare nature area. It is also sometimes called the Brabant Sahara: nowhere in Europe are living drifting sands found on such a large scale. You also drive through dense deciduous and coniferous forests, fresh stream valleys and heathlands that turn beautiful purple in August. In the middle of the nature reserve you drive through Giersbergen, a hamlet with beautiful monumental thatched farms. You cycle back through the woods near De Moer to your starting point, via the nice village of Loon op Zand.
