Walking route Leende and Leenderbos

After a cup of coffee at Brasserie Gezellig, put on your walking shoes. Then you set off through Leenderstrijp. In this small village you will see some beautiful old Kempen long-façade farms. Just outside the village you can turn left from the Kapelstraat to see the beautiful Sint-Janskapel. This monument dates from 1843. Further on you will pass the Heimolen, a corn mill from 1754. The Leenderbos is mainly planted with Scots pines that were once intended for mining timber, but you will also see heathland, fens, drifting dunes and winding paths. For example, the route leads along the Brilven. This beautiful forest area never bores. On the small heathlands you can encounter the nightjar or the gentian blue butterfly. The last part of the route takes you through the beautiful old Leende.
