Hospitable Sankt Vith
Sankt Vith is the starting point of this cycle route. This town was completely destroyed during the Second World War, but since then it has really bounced back. Now Sankt Vith is a town known for its hospitality and good restaurants. The hundreds of years old tradition of Sankt Vith as a marketplace has been preserved despite all the changes. In addition, the newly constructed city center of Sankt Vith is a nice shopping area, where the many terraces invite you to enjoy a drink or something tasty.
Old and new sights
Sankt Vith also cherishes its Bücheltoren, the only remnant of the medieval city walls, and the worth-seeing neo-Romanesque Vitus Basilica. The Heimatmuseum, housed in the former station, organizes fascinating exhibitions about the region's past and the Planetenweg explains our solar system in a concise way. Plenty to do and see, in addition to a bike ride through the surroundings of this nice town.
