This route takes you through the Ardennes in the vicinity of Florenville. Here you can enjoy beautiful green landscapes with vast forests, lovely villages and hamlets and the beautiful valley of the Semois, a river with very varied landscapes.
The church tower in Florenville
The starting point of this route is just outside Florenville. In this region you will find numerous monuments such as'La Poivriere\\\' or'La Redoute\\\' in Florenville. This old redoubt was built in the time of Louis XIV to defend the Semois. In Florenville you can also enjoy a beautiful view of the surrounding area from the belvedere on top of the church tower at a height of about 50 meters. The view here extends to the French Ardennes and Lorraine. Florenville itself is already at an altitude of about 400 meters, so you already have a nice view from the city.
The watermill in Lacuisine
Downstream from the village of Lacuisine is the remarkable old water mill, which has been restored and put back into operation. This mill once supplied the energy for a sawmill. Lacuisine is also known for its'de la Roche au Chat\\' viewpoint. This rock gives a beautiful view over the Semois and the Ardennes forest of Herbeumont.
