A bridge too far: tour of Renkum's stream valley

Boscafé De Beken is a nice place to start your walking route through the Renkums Beekdal. You will find the café in the former De Beken farm. Walk straight into the information center. The Renkums Beekdal is crossed by several streams. The bowl shape originated in the penultimate ice age, when meltwater from land ice scoured the valley. The stream valley has a valuable nature due to the wet hay meadows, sprinkling with clean spring water and a varied forest. The route also leads you past one of the Liberation Route points: 20. Parachute and glider landings. On September 17, 1944, countless paratroopers and gliders landed here. This impressive spectacle is commemorated in the film A bridge too far: the bridge at Arnhem unfortunately turned out to be a bridge too far.
