Description
Your route starts just outside Schinnen. You will soon discover the beautiful Geleenbeekdal and the Stammenderbos. Via Beek you descend through the hills to Elsoo and Stein aan de Maas, two beautiful places with a rich history. Both are crowned with a beautiful castle! In Urmond you will see the Bokkenrijderskapel from 1755 to the right of the Molenweg. Between 1760 and 1770 Bokkenrijders held meetings here. Via Kasteel Grasbroek and Kasteel Limbricht you cycle to 't Sjpaorhutje where you can have a drink on a terrace, before you cycle to Witham. This country house was also once a castle. Along and just over the German border you cycle to Sittard, where even more cultural history awaits you. For example, you pass the Stadbroekermolen from 1582. Be sure to get off in the old city center!
