Description
Your route starts just outside Schinnen, at Brasserie De Muldermolen. You'll soon discover the beautiful Geleenbeek Valley and the Stammenderbos forest. Via Beek, you'll descend through the hills to Elsoo and Stein aan de Maas, two charming towns with a rich history. Both are crowned by a magnificent castle! In Urmond, to the right of Molenweg, you'll see the Bokkenrijders Chapel from 1755. Between 1760 and 1770, Bokkenrijders held meetings here. You'll cycle past Grasbroek Castle and Limbricht Castle to Witham. This manor house was also once a castle. Along and just over the German border, you'll cycle to Sittard, where even more cultural history awaits. You'll pass, for example, the Stadbroekermolen windmill from 1582. Be sure to stop in the old city center! Back at your starting point, you can take some time to relax with a snack and a drink.
