Cycling route Scheveningen, Katwijk and Wassenaar

You can cycle leisurely through the dunes between Scheveningen and Katwijk. First you enter Meijendel, a vast dune area. Sometimes you hear the wind, sometimes you hear the melodious song of birds such as the nightingale and reed bunting. An ideal environment to enjoy some kilometers. In the adjacent Berkheide you see a mix of small valleys, parabolic dunes and shrubs. The many dune roses that bloom in the spring are striking. Just past junction 47 you drive through the nationally protected face of Wassenaar. You will see some beautiful old buildings here, and you will also pass the twelfth-century village church. Then you cycle through the park forests of some country estates, such as Landgoed De Paauw. After getting off, enjoy a delicious meal at Visrestaurant De Dagvisser.
