Cycling route Scheveningen, Katwijk and Wassenaar

Between Scheveningen and Katwijk you cycle through the dunes at your leisure. First you enter Meijendel, an extensive dune area. Sometimes you hear the wind, sometimes you hear the melodious song of birds such as the nightingale and reed bunting. An ideal environment to make some nice kilometers. In the adjacent Berkheide you see a mix of small valleys, parabolic dunes and scrub. Striking are the many dune roses that bloom in the spring. Just past junction 47 you cycle through the nationally protected view of Wassenaar. Here you see some beautiful old buildings, you also pass the twelfth-century village church. Then you cycle through the park forests of several country estates, such as Landgoed De Paauw. After getting off you enjoy a delicious meal at Visrestaurant De Dagvisser.
