Shortly after the start, you can take a break at 't Sjpaorhutje. Between Echt and Susteren, you'll find the beautiful De Doort Nature Reserve. The name is derived from the word "Dorenbosch," a woodland with many thorny shrubs. This area consists of forests, expansive meadows, marshes, and ponds, created by former clay extraction. Here you'll find the largest tree frog population in the Netherlands; they love to sit in sunny spots on brambles. This route continues through the enchanting Nieuw Annendaalsbos. This forest consists of coniferous and deciduous trees where woodlarks and yellowhammers brood their young. Here and there, you'll see a timid deer sprinting away between the trees, and wild boars leave their tracks in the area as they search for food.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
