Description

After a cup of coffee at Brasserie De Kievit, you get on your bike. With this route you will discover the Bels Lijntje, the former railway line between Tilburg and Turnhout that now serves as a cycle path. You drive through beautiful nature. You cycle back along the edge of Turnhout via a rural route. Baarle, the starting point of this route, is a different story, because it is said to be the most remarkable village in the world. As many as 30 pieces of Belgium and the Netherlands are intertwined and together form the village. The border criss-crosses roads, houses and gardens. In built-up areas, the enclave boundaries have been made visible using special paving stones and aluminum plates in the road surface. This way you can see exactly where the border runs!
