starting point node 95 Geestermeanbacht south side or node 93 Geestermeanbacht north side or node 49 Breelaan 7 at restaurant Duinvermaak in Bergen and for train travelers node 71 (from the train over the railway bridge turn left along the North Holland Canal cycle under the bridge until the bicycle bridge pick up the route there to node 92) The route Alkmaar/Schoorl/Bergen/Alkmaar starts at node 95. You drive through the recreation area Geestermeanbacht with a large pond created by sand suction in favor of the new construction of Alkmaar-noord. Then you drive along the Noord-Hollands canal where many pleasure boats go in the direction of Schoorldam in good weather. From Schoorldam you drive to Schoorl where you will come across a grain mill (Duinzicht) that you can visit on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Free entrance where you can also buy flour. From Schoorl you drive along the dunes towards Groet where you enter the Schoorls dune area with its highest and widest dunes in North Holland and where you come across restaurant De Berekuil on the way where you can drink a nice cup of coffee. From Schoorl you drive to cozy Bergen with nice shops and the ruined church, then you go through the polder towards Alkmaar where you drive past the golf course to junction 71 from there you drive along the North Holland canal towards junction 72 on the way you will come past 2 windmills where you can have something tasty at one before you have to cycle the last bit to node 75.
