Alkmaar/Heiloo/Egmond/Bergen

The route Alkmaar/Heiloo/Egmond/Bergen is 30.8 km. long. Starting point is at junction 72 (near Alkmaar-Noord station, there is also sufficient parking space and the other boarding points where you have sufficient parking space are junction 32 Belieslaan / De Omloop / Maalwater in Heiloo or junction 8 Wijckplein in Bergen aan Zee from September 1 to April 1. Note: from junction 52 you can follow the signs to junction 74 over the Friesebrug. The cycle tour goes through the center of beautiful Alkmaar with its canals, past a few mills and past the weighing square where the cheese market is held on Friday mornings (from April to September). For the dates, look at the Alkmaar website www.alkmaar.nl. The cycle tour then continues past the deer park where you can also find a flower clock and then you continue to Heiloo through the Heiloo\\\'er. forest and along the recreational area of Heiloo you arrive at junction 32 where you enter the meadows of the outskirts of Heiloo on the way to Egmond aan de hoe where you cycle past a ruined castle chapel of Egmond aan de hoe. From Egmond aan de Hoof you drive to junction 5 where you enter the North Holland dune area in line of PWN (dune card required to be purchased on site via a card machine). Here you can encounter horses grazing the dune. Now you are at junction 8, which is Bergen aan Zee, where you can enjoy the sea for a while and there is also a sea aquarium here. From Bergen aan Zee you go to cozy Bergen with nice shops and cozy terraces and where you can find the ruined church. From Bergen you go back to Alkmaar along the way you will pass a golf course and drive through the nature of the Berger polder.
