Your route starts at Restaurant-brasserie De Coockpit. From this cozy restaurant you have a beautiful view of the runways of Kempen Airport, while you enjoy a delicious meal. Today you will take a walk through Budel-Dorplein. This is not a spelling mistake: the village is named after the Dor manufacturer family. A zinc factory was built in the middle of the Loozerheide in 1892, and the Dors had houses and facilities built for the workers in the area. The area is a protected villagescape. The buildings are located among the coniferous forests, a beautiful picture. The closed zinc basins of the factory are now designed as a Sustainable Industrial Park Cranendonck. An extensive solar park is part of the area. Sustainable electricity is generated here for up to 12,600 households in the region.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
