Description
Enjoy a delicious lunch at De Balije Tuin, before hopping on the saddle for a fun bike ride. First you drive through the Balijebos. A quiet nature reserve where you can immediately shake off the everyday routine. In Zoetermeer you drive through the Burgemeester Hoekstrapark. Here you can see the almost 50 meter high iconic water tower from 1928. You cycle through the polder to the Rottemeren. They are located slightly higher than the surrounding, settled polders: a special view. You will see some mills here, such as the Eendrachtsmolen built in 1727 that drained the Eendragtspolder. Further on you drive past the Hoge Bergse Bos and the Groenzoom, an ecological connecting zone that was completed in 2016. What a varied route!
