Varied landscapes along the banks
Attention nature lovers! Few routes have as much variety as the 120 kilometers of the Spree cycle route in Saxony. The route runs parallel to the river Spree, which also flows through the German capital of Berlin. The river rises from three sources at Mount Kottmar in Upper Lusatia (Saxony).
Via a natural tour through the mountains it goes towards Bautzen. What makes this historic city so special is its location on a granite plateau above the River Spree. After Beeskow, with its historic town centre, it goes towards the cathedral town of Fürstenwalde. Those who still have strength in their legs after this can bet on a sprint to Berlin.
