Tour of the Maashorst nature reserve

In De Maashorst, agricultural activities coexist with nature. The core of the area is formed by the Schaijkse Heide, a former heathland area. Nature is managed with respect and left intact as much as possible. This vast area consists of heathlands and coniferous forests that alternate and you will also encounter vast grassy meadows, interrupted by deciduous forest. Wet and dry soils vary in the hilly landscape and babbling brooks wind their way through the agricultural soils to lower areas. In the middle of the Maashorst you can visit the Slabroek Nature Center to learn more about this unique landscape park in a monumental farm. The route starts and ends at Hotel Brasserie Verhoeven in Uden, a beautiful town with a special location on the Peelrand Fracture.
