Discover De Maashorst from Boekel

The Boekel area has so much to offer! Go out and be surprised by the beautiful Brabant countryside. You start at Brasserie de Mouthoeve, where you can first enjoy a cup of coffee and something tasty before getting on your bike. Then you cycle towards the Maashorst. In this extensive nature reserve you cycle through deciduous and coniferous forests, and you will also see remains of the old farmland with fields, hedgerows and wet grasslands. Enjoy the silence for a moment. The Meuse once flowed here, but due to a fracture in the earth's crust, the earth increasingly rose. As a result, the Meuse was pushed to the east and the land became increasingly higher. That height is called a horst, hence the Maashorst.
