Description
In Boswachterij Gieten-Borger it is nice to make miles. The deeper you cycle into the forest, the quieter it gets. A little later you drive through the best preserved stream and esdorp landscape in Western Europe. East of Gasselte you drive through the wide landscape of the former Drenthe peat area. A little further on you cycle through the small Schreiersbos: the trees protect the residential area behind it against the peat-colonial sandstorms in the spring. On the Hunze near Gasselternijveen you will pass De Juffer, a flour mill from 1841 that used to be located at another location in the village. At Restaurant de Wiemel you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee, lunch and dinner.
