Tour Castle de Haar and Haarzuilens

Your walking route starts at Geertjes Hoeve, an organic experience farm in Haarzuilens, a village just outside Utrecht. This short route is also great to do with children, who will have a great time at the start and end point. With Kasteel de Haar you have a historic highlight within reach. First you walk across the green green of Haarzuilens. This nice village is mainly known for the nearby Kasteel de Haar, which you then walk to. This largest castle in the Netherlands is definitely worth a visit, as are the gardens. The original fortress was probably built in the 12th century, the ruins served as the basis for the current castle in 1892. At Geertjes Hoeve you can then relax on the cozy terrace of the farm restaurant.
