The defense line The New Dutch Waterline runs from Muiden to the Biesbosch and this tour takes you through the heart of the area protected by the defense line. It will therefore not surprise you that water plays the leading role during your trip. Defensive works stretch for about 85 kilometers. The Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie has been designated as a national landscape since 2005, and four years later the entire line was given the status of a national monument. Since 2010, the defense line has been a candidate for UNESCO's World Heritage List. And rightly so, because the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie is a beautiful nature reserve with forts, shelters for birds and protected animal species, and hydraulic feats that are both visible and hidden in the landscape. You can park your car in the parking lot of Bed & Breakfast-Partycentrum De Drie Dorpen. The route starts from this nice location on the edge of't Gooi. Take the opportunity to spend the night at De Drie Dorpen, so that you can use our cycling package and also cycle route 124907. This route also starts and ends in Ankeveen at the B&B. After your bike ride you must have worked up an appetite from the effort.
