Provided by: route.nl
Your route starts at Eetcafe De Holtenploeg. In Drenthe you will find beautiful extensive nature reserves around Schoonoord, Schoonloo and Odoorn. In Sleen you cycle past the De Hoop flour mill from 1914 and the impressive monumental town hall from 1938. Just outside Noord-Sleen you pass two dolmens: D50 and D51. Take a break to enjoy these special places. Then you drive into the Sleenerzand, a forest that was planted in the 1930s. From the stream valley you make a climb to Boswachterij Odoorn. In Odoorn you pass the Margaret Church, whose choir dates from the twelfth century. The neatly divided Odoornerveen looks very different, here you can clearly see the peat history. You drive back through the Noordbargerbos, which was created around 1930.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
