This multi-day hiking route makes a round through the Vogtland. A natural route that leads past towns such as Plauen, the spa town of Bad Elster and the music town of Markneukirchen. This quality route has the quality mark'Qualitätsweg Wanderbares Deutschland\\\'. The healthy mountain air is a blessing for body and soul.
The starting and finishing point, the Göltzschtal bridge (near Mylau/Netzschkau), is already an attraction. It is the world's longest brick railway bridge. 20 million stones were used to bridge the 567 meters across the valley. The route is divided into stages of 12 to 24 km. An experienced hiker completes the tour in one week. You can also walk separate stages. A number of them have a light walking profile, but there are also routes with considerable differences in height (especially in the vicinity of the winter sports resort of Klingenthal).
The area surrounding Markneukirchen has been a center of musical instrument builders for 300 years. Various makers, from guitars, harmonicas, violins to saxophones, are happy to talk about their craftsmanship and instruments. The spa towns of Bad Elster and Bad Brambach offer various wonderful thermal baths with the grandeur of bygone times. Make time for a soothing mud or steam bath. This area is ideal for hikers to enjoy the mountains and forests with beautiful views.
