Experience the Drenthe of the past

In the Drentsche Aa National Landscape you can take a look back at Drenthe 150 years ago. It is wonderful to cycle through nature around Haren in Groningen. You start at Pannenkoekhuis Paviljoen Appelbergen, which is located between the trees and heathlands of the beautiful Appelbergen nature reserve. Enjoy a delicious pancake here after your cycling route. From the pavilion you can drive straight into the countryside with its grasslands, ditches and old farms. You then drive past the Noordlaarderbos and the Westerlanden towards Drenthe. How quiet it is here! You cycle through a backdrop of grasslands, forests, hedgerows and heathlands. You also pass some burial mounds. At Paterswolde you drive past three estates: Vosbergen, De Duinen and Lemferdinge. You will see beautiful park forests.
