Experience the Drenthe of the past

In the National Landscape of the Drentsche Aa you can take a look back at the Drenthe of 150 years ago. Around Haren in Groningen it is wonderful to cycle through nature. You start at Pannenkoekhuis Paviljoen Appelbergen, which is located between the trees and the heathlands of the beautiful nature reserve Appelbergen. Enjoy a delicious pancake here after your cycle route. From the pavilion you cycle straight into the countryside with its grasslands, ditches and old farms. Then you cycle past the Noordlaarderbos and the Westerlanden towards Drenthe. How quiet it is here! You cycle through a decor of grasslands, groves, hedgerows and heathlands. You also pass several burial mounds. At Paterswolde you cycle past three estates: Vosbergen, De Duinen Lemferdinge. You see beautiful park forests there.
