On the pedals to the cup of Bloemendaal

The route from Lisse to the cup of Bloemendaal passes beautiful natural scenery. There is a good chance that you will come face to face with a fallow deer, fox or sand lizard or enjoy the song of the nightingale and there are also plenty of butterflies to see. When you continue the route you approach the Kopje van Bloemendaal, a 43 meter high dune top in Bloemendaal. A viewpoint has been established on the dune from which the distant surroundings can be seen. This viewpoint was opened by Queen Wilhelmina in 1907, after raising the dune. In the Second World War, a bunker was built by the Germans, this bunker is currently a viewing tower. The lookout tower was completely restored in 2008. There is also a restaurant, a pancake house and the open-air theater of Bloemendaal on the head. Het Kopje borders the Kennemer dunes and the Caprera hiking park. Het Kopje is a popular climb for cyclists because of the clinker pavement. If you think that the cup is a bit too much, you can continue the route at node 20 to node 19 and pick up the route again from here. You are now cycling in the direction of Zandvoort aan Zee, a seaside resort that thrives on tourism, but is also certainly known for the Formula 1 race circuit, Circuit Park Zandvoort. From junction 79 you cycle through the dunes with the North Sea on your right and the Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen on your left up to Langevelderslag. Now the route will go inland again towards Lisse. Just before you cycle into the center you will pass Keukenhof Castle and its beautiful estate and the world-famous Keukenhof flower park. In the center you can enjoy this beautiful route at one of the many catering establishments in Lisse!
