A hilly landscape with beautiful stream valleys and steep slopes, that can only be in Limburg. You are about to explore the most beautiful part of this province. This is a route full of half-timbered farms, chapels, crucifixes, mills and castles. Schaloen Castle in Oud-Valkenburg is a wonderful example of a historic building. Then you explore the surroundings of Rothem and de Geul. You pass the beautiful Chateau Sint Gerlach, which was built in the twelfth century as a monastery. In the 19th century, the monastery was converted into a castle. These are just a few of the beautiful cultural sights during this route: you will really be amazed!
