Your route starts at De Bongaard. You explore large and small places in the Westland. This region is best known for greenhouse horticulture. Farming has been going on in this area for centuries. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, horticulture boomed here due to the relatively high temperatures in winter thanks to the moderating sea wind. The increasing demand for horticultural products from the surrounding cities and the good water connections also contributed. Cycling through this area, there is a lot of greenery and activity.
