Tour of Maastricht and the Limburg hills

Your route starts in the beautiful Mheer. You will see the seventeenth-century Sint-Lambertus church, with the fourteenth-century Kasteel van Mheer behind it. In Libeek you will pass a castle farm with the same name. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it was still a castle with a moat around it. Via Sint Geertruid you will drive to the Maas. In Gronsveld, stop off at De Kwizzenjer! In Maastricht you will drive a bit along the park-like right bank of the Maas, a popular area to stroll around or sit by the water when the weather is nice. You will also pass the Bonnefanten Museum and Centre Ceramique. In Gulpen there is a striking church tower. The associated Sint-Petrus church was demolished last century and rebuilt 250 meters further on in neo-Romanesque style.
