Tour of Maastricht and the Limburg hills

Your route starts in beautiful Mheer. You will see the seventeenth-century St. Lambertus Church, with the fourteenth-century Mheer Castle behind it. In Libeek you will pass a castle farm with the same name. Its origins date back to the 13th century, when it was still a castle with a moat around it. You drive to the Maas via Sint Geertruid. Get off at De Kwizzenjer in Gronsveld! In Maastricht you drive a bit along the park-like right bank of the Maas, a popular area for strolling or sitting by the water when the weather is nice. You will also pass the Bonnefanten Museum and Center Ceramique. There is a striking church tower in Gulpen. The associated St. Peter's Church was demolished last century and rebuilt 250 meters further in neo-Romanesque style.
