From Belgium through the Limburg hills

From Epen you can make a beautiful bike ride through the green hills of Limburg. Along the way you will pass many sights, such as old half-timbered houses, churches and water mills.

Holset
You drive through some charming hamlets to Belgium. You drive through Wallonia for a while, although in Sippenaeken, for example, you hear more Limburgish than French. You make a climb to the border crossing with the Netherlands, then you descend quickly. You pass two water mills: the Vaalsbroekermolen from 1776 and the Frankenhofmolen from 1736. In Holset you see the old HH Lambertus and Genovevakerk.

Geul Valley
The border village of Oud-Lemiers enjoys a protected village view. Here you can see, among other things, the twelfth-century Saint Catherine Chapel. What a special atmosphere! Then you drive through the beautiful German village of Orsbach. In Overheul you can see, among other things, the Commandeursmolen, a water mill that originally dates from the thirteenth century.
