From Aalten you will experience a beautiful day of cycling in the Achterhoek. In the village itself you will cycle past the Oude Helenakerk, a late Gothic pseudo-basilica that originally dates from the twelfth century. There are several beautiful monumental buildings on the Markt, this area is therefore a protected village view. Just past junction 43 you will cycle past the Vennenbulten, a small-scale nature reserve with coniferous and deciduous trees. In Zieuwent you can take a look at the Sint-Werenfriduskerk from 1899. This building is also called the cathedral of the Achterhoek. At Skik & Zo Eten & Drinken you are welcome for a delicious meal, after which you cycle via Lievelde and the Korenburgerveen to Bredevoort. Here you will see plenty of beautiful old buildings, such as the Sint-Joriskerk. You cycle back to Aalten along the Boven-Slinge.
