Tour of Gemert, Bakel and Elsendorp

After a cup of coffee at KOKS Binnen & Buiten Genieten, you cycle via Handel to the beautiful nature reserve de Stippelberg. At the end of the nineteenth century, the area consisted mainly of heathland, but between 1893 and 1935 the Douglas fir and Japanese larch were planted. The area is also home to special animals. Scottish Highlanders keep the area open. Bats, squirrels, polecats, deer, hares and foxes hide between the trees, and even the badger made its debut on the Stippelberg in 1998! You cycle back through the pleasant Gemert. The most important attraction of Gemert is the castle, which includes a number of farms and the various herb gardens. The most famous is the public Velt garden, where all kinds of herbs are still grown ecologically on a 3-hectare site.
