Tour of Gemert, Bakel and Elsendorp

After a cup of coffee at KOKS Binnen & Buiten Enjoy, you drive via Handel to the beautiful Stippelberg nature reserve. At the end of the nineteenth century the area consisted mainly of heathland, but between 1893 and 1935 Douglas fir and Japanese larch were planted. Special animals also occur in the area. Scottish Highlanders keep the area open. Bats, squirrels, polecats, deer, hares and foxes hide among the trees, and even the badger made its debut on the Stippelberg in 1998! You cycle back through the nice Gemert. The main attraction of Gemert is the castle, which includes a number of farms and the various herb gardens. The best known is the public Velt garden, where all kinds of herbs are grown ecologically on a 3-hectare site.
