Tour of Gaast, Piaam and Allingawier

It is wonderful to cycle in Southwest Friesland. The wide landscape lends itself well to switching back for a day. Along the way you will pass through many picturesque places. Gaast is located on the former Zuiderzeedijk. From this picturesque village with its narrow streets, whaling was once practiced, as you can see from the pavement near the beautiful medieval church. Further along the dike you will pass Piaam, you can take a look at this picturesque village to enjoy the unique atmosphere. A little further on you will pass the Frisian Museum Village in Allingawier. This characteristic mound village was once labeled one of the ten most beautiful places in the Netherlands. Museum farm De Izeren Ko forms the heart of the museum village. The barn was built around 1700!
