Tour of Enschede and Gronau

From IntercityHotel Enschede you can take a beautiful bike ride through the German-Dutch border area. First you drive to Lonneker. Here you see the Jacobus de Meerkerk from 1912, just outside the village you pass the Lonneker Mill, a flour mill from 1851. The rural area around Losser belongs to the National Landscape of Northeast Twente. Here you drive through a lovely landscape with high fields, streams, hedgerows and avenues lined with deciduous trees. From junction 4 you cycle a bit through the valley of the river De Dinkel. You take a trip to Germany, where you drive past the Gildehauser peat and through the town of Gronau. Just below Glanerbrug you pass through the Aamsveen, a nature reserve with swamp forests, heathland and poor grassland. The route ends with a visit to the heart of Enschede.
