From Eelde into nature

This varied route starts at Profile Mulder. From junction 25 you cycle a short distance through the Peizer- and Eeldermaden, a low peat area of wet and flowery grasslands, ditches, groves and hedgerows. A little later you drive along the banks of the Hoornse Meer, which was created in the 1970s by sand extraction. This is where De Helper is located, a polder mill from 1863. In the water-rich Westerpolder near Haren you can enjoy traveling for miles, just like in the vast Oost- and Onnerpolder. Drentsche Aa National Park is a unique area. The Drentsche Aa stream has retained its centuries-old meandering course, but the Drenthe esdorp landscape has also been preserved. You will see Saxon farms around the village green and fields on rounded ash trees. At Pannenkoekhuis Paviljoen Appelbergen you can enjoy something tasty.
