The Dommeldal and the Stiphoutse Bossen

The Dommeldal between Eindhoven and Nuenen is a surprisingly beautiful cycling area. Further on you drive through the vast Stiphoutse Bossen.

Liberation Route
Along the Dommel you drive through an authentic small-scale landscape. You will see wet and flowery grasslands, willows, poplars and birches also grow here. Near the river you can also cycle over the beautiful Landgoed Eckartdal. Here you can see, among other things, an eighteenth-century castle farm. At listening point L112 you can hear the story about a cold-blooded gardener who with a convincing speech prevented the Germans from crossing a bridge over the Dommel.

Van Gogh
North of Nuenen you drive through an old farmland and you see Molen de Roosdonck from 1884. This mill was drawn by Van Gogh no fewer than seven times. A little later you cycle through the Stiphoutse Bossen. What a wonderful silence you experience here between the many coniferous trees.
