Tour of Slagharen, Hardenberg and Rheeze

Your route starts at Holiday Park't Rheezerwold. First you cycle to Hardenberg, a town on the Overijsselse Vecht. There would have been settlements in Hardenberg in the past when the Romans moved north to conquer the area of the Teutons. The environment has remained green unchanged. South of the town lies the Brucht water extraction area, where coniferous and deciduous forests alternate with sparse grasslands and heathlands where you can see typical heather bushes. In the Vechtdal you drive through a picturesque landscape. You cycle through the Rheezermaten, a nature reserve on the Vecht with flowery grasslands. Rheeze is without a doubt one of the most beautiful green villages in Overijssel. Step off to fully enjoy the charming view: ancient Saxon farmhouses surrounded by meadows and stately old trees.
