Tour of Slagharen, Hardenberg and Rheeze

Your route starts at Camping & Holiday Park 'T Rheezerwold. First, you cycle to Hardenberg, a town on the Overijssel Vecht. Settlements are said to have existed in Hardenberg in the past, when the Romans marched north to conquer the territory of the Germanic tribes. The surroundings have remained unchanged and green. South of the town lies the Brucht water catchment area, where coniferous and deciduous forests alternate with sparse grasslands and heathlands where you can see typical heather shrubs. In the Vecht Valley, you ride through a picturesque landscape. For instance, you cycle through the Rheezermaten, a nature reserve along the Vecht with flower-rich grasslands. Rheeze is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful village greens in Overijssel. Dismount for a moment to fully enjoy the charming view: centuries-old Saxon farmhouses surrounded by meadows and stately old trees.
