Tour of Drenthe nature and culture from Schoonebeek

Your route starts at Aquamarijn just outside Schoonebeek, just above Coevorden. This cycling tour takes you about 75 kilometers through the beautiful Drenthe landscape. First you drive towards Western Forest. This hamlet falls almost entirely under Monument Care. The authentic farms together form the original Schoonebeek. You cycle across vast fields and along sheltered rows of trees via the Grote Rietplas straight through Klazienaveen. You leave the Drenthe village atmosphere behind you and arrive at Bargerveen. This nature reserve is a small but special remnant of the once 300,000 hectare Boertanger swamp. The peat lives here! Just like the almost three hundred bird species. Your starting point slowly comes into view again. Once back in Schoonebeek, you can enjoy real Drenthe hospitality at the cozy farm at your starting point.
