Description
This cycling tour takes you about 55 kilometres through the beautiful Drenthe landscape. First you cycle towards Westerse Bos. This hamlet is almost entirely protected by the Monumentenzorg. The authentic farms together form the original Schoonebeek. Across vast fields and along sheltered rows of trees you cycle via the Grote Rietplas straight through Klazienaveen. You leave the Drenthe village atmosphere behind you and arrive at the Bargerveen. This nature reserve is a small but special remnant of the once 300,000 hectare Boertangermoeras. The peat lives here! Just like the almost three hundred bird species. Slowly your starting point comes into view again.
