In Drenthe you can cycle for miles through the woods. From your starting point you cycle straight into Boswachterij Odoorn and Boswachterij Exloo. What a wealth! You drive through Exloo, after which you enter the Hunzenbos. Here you pass Hunebed D31. In Esdorp Weerdinge you pass the Hondsrug, a flour mill from 1910. The Emmerdennen is a forest that was created around 1850. Here you pass Hunebed D45. The story goes that the dent in one of the capstones was caused by Napoleon in 1809. He would have stood on top of this dolmen with his horse and all. Take a break at Eetcafe De Holtenploeg! From Sleen you drive towards the Sleenerzand. Before you drive back you can look around at the Ellert and Brammert Open Air Museum.
