Tour of the Frisian Woods between Beetsterzwaag and Bakkeveen

From Camping & Fiets/Wandelterras De Ikeleane you can take a beautiful bike ride through the Frisian Woods between Bakkeveen and Beetsterzwaag. First you cycle through Landgoed de Slotplaats, which was already laid out in 1668. You will see gigantic centuries-old beech trees, further to the west lies a nineteenth-century production forest. Further on you cycle past the Wijnjeterperschar, a heathland. In the hamlet of Olterterp you can, among other things, take a look at the Sint-Hippolytuskerk from 1500. Just before Beetsterzwaag you pass Landgoed Lauswolt, after which the route takes you through the Wallebosch and the Lippenhuisterheide. On car-free roads you cycle through a number of villages to the Duurswouder heath. Finally you cycle past the Bakkeveenster Duinen. At the Ikeleane you can enjoy a drink on a cozy terrace.
