Tour of Emmeloord, Vollenhove and Ossenzijl

Your route starts in Emmeloord. From here you cycle to the Weerribben, which forms a national park together with the Wieden. The watery Weerribben are covered with beautiful plants and a variety of special animal species live in this area. The carnivorous bladderwort often floats in large masses on open ponds, fens and lakes. Just before the end of the route you cross the Hannie Schaftweg. It is one of the roads in this region named after resistance fighters from the Second World War. Not without reason: because of the reclamation, the Noordoostpolder was an ideal area for people in hiding at that time.
