Tour of Emmeloord, Vollenhove and Ossenzijl

Your route starts in Emmeloord. From here you cycle to the Weerribben, which forms a national park together with the Wieden. The water-rich Weerribben are covered with beautiful plants and a variety of special animal species live in this area. The carnivorous bladderwort often floats in large masses on open puddles, fens and lakes. Just before the end of the route you cross the Hannie Schaftweg. It is one of the roads named after World War II resistance fighters in this region. Not without reason: because of the reclamation, the Noordoostpolder was an ideal area for people in hiding at the time.
