Cycling route Son en Breugel

From Son en Breugel you cycle into the Dommeldal. A picturesque area where you look out over meadows with pollard willows and hedgerows. The Vresselse Bos was planted in the 1920s on a cover sand ridge, where you will see Scots pine, oak and beech trees. You cycle to Lieshout on leafy roads. Here you pass De Leest, a flour mill from 1899. At De Heuvel you pass the beautiful seventeenth-century entrance gate of a demolished country house. At junction 61 you will see the Old Tower, a solitary church tower from the Middle Ages. The associated St. Trudo Church was lost in 1884 due to fire following a lightning strike. Further on you drive through the Stiphoutse Bossen. In Gerwen you can admire the early seventeenth-century St. Clemens Church. You drive along the Wilhelmina Canal to Hotel & Restaurant La Sonnerie.
