Tour of Enschede, Witte Veen and Buurserzand

From Boerderijcamping De Beek you can take a beautiful bike ride. First you drive to the Buurserzand. This quiet nature reserve is unique in Europe due to its size and wet character. You will see a mosaic of heathlands with hundred-year-old juniper berries, forests, small fields and some orchid meadows. Further on you drive past the Rutbeek, a natural recreation area around a sand quarry. In Enschede you cycle through the Zweringbeekpark. You pass Profile Broeksema, further on you drive through the charming scenic landscape to the Witte Veen: a remnant of what was once a much larger raised bog area. You briefly cross the border with Germany, after which you pass the Haarmühle, a 350-year-old water mill. Back at Farm Camping De Beek you can continue to enjoy the tranquility of Twente.
