Description

The core of Hilvarenbeek was liberated on October 4, 1944. However, the war was not over for the families living on the Groot Loo. Until October 27, 1944 there was a front line here and there was fierce fighting. Traces of this can still be found, especially in the woods. This walk was made in collaboration with Logeerderij Beek&Ko in the context of 75 years of freedom.

Enjoy this walk through a varied area, where you will also pass a number of fens that are definitely worth a visit with their specific plants and animals. You start on the Vrijthof, where the Phoenix stands with the names of 25 war victims.

The route is approximately 17.5 km long.
