The sand has largely determined the appearance of the area; National Park “De Maasduinen” is a terraced landscape that consists of lower and higher sandy soils, the Maas valley and a plateau, but is no longer actively drifting due to the vegetation. The"de Hamert\\\" estate forms the heart of the woods and heaths, which cover approximately 45 hectares. When you have parked your car in the parking lot, you first cycle through the National Park before you get off your bike in Overloon. Ice cream parlor Clevers Overloon is the ideal place to take a break, because here you can enjoy a tasty, well-deserved ice cream and charge your electric bicycle in the meantime.
