Description
This path starts at the market square in Workum, directly opposite the town hall.
The Tillefonne is a sixteenth-century church path between the town of Workum and the dike of the former Zuiderzee, now the IJsselmeer.
The path used to be used by people from the area who went to church and for trade, for example to the weekly market, to Workum. On the old drawing from 1790 by Jan Bulthuis you can even see that people also sailed along this path in small boats.
