Description
This path starts at the market square in Workum, directly opposite the town hall.
The Tillefonne is a sixteenth-century church path between the city of Workum and the dike of the former Zuiderzee, now the IJsselmeer.
The path was formerly used by people from the area who went to church and for trade, for example to the weekly market, to Workum. The old drawing from 1790 by Jan Bulthuis even shows that small boats were also sailed along this path.
