Walking route Schadijkse bos en Heere Peel

Your walking route starts with a cup of coffee on the terrace of Blauwebessenland. In season you can pick your own berries here, great for on the road! From here you walk to the Schadijkse bos, a special area. The heaths used to be soded and used for grazing sheep. Because of the bare spots that arose, the wind got hold of the underlying sand, the shifting sand created a hilly forest area. At the end of the 19th century, these sand drifts were counteracted by the planting of pines. Then you will discover the nature area of the Heere Peel or Laagheide, a piece of Peel that has been reconstructed. The wild nature had been excavated here by peat cutters, but has now been restored.
