Walking route Schadijkse woods and Heere Peel

Your walking route starts with a cup of coffee on the Blauwebessenland terrace. During the season you can pick your own berries here, great for on the go! From here you walk to the Schadijkse forests, a special area. The heathlands used to be sod and used for grazing sheep. Due to the bare spots that were created, the wind got a hold on the underlying sand, the drifting sand created a hilly forest area. At the end of the 19th century, these sand drifts were again prevented by the planting of pine trees. Then you discover the Heere Peel or Laagheide nature reserve, a part of Peel that has been redesigned. The wild nature here had been excavated by peat cutters, but has now been restored to its former glory. Stepping stones have been laid in the fens, do you dare to give it a try?
