Round Leeuwarden Jelsum-Britsum-Wyns (with ferry)

Pay attention to the ferry in the route, check the ferry website (the 8 of Grou) for sailing times. Route from the pleasant center of Leeuwarden via Bilgaard (1960s expansion district) to a number of villages north of Leeuwarden. The first village is Jelsum (protected village view) with the worth seeing Dekemastate (see their website for more information about opening times and options). Then via the characteristic villages of Koarnjum (Cornjum) and Britsum into the open agricultural countryside. Cross at Wyns by ferry where there is a beautifully situated terrace for a stopover. You then cycle along the Dokkumer Ee via a nice, sometimes narrow cycle path, partly straight through the meadows via Lekkum and the beautiful artists' village of Snakkerburen, back to the center of Leeuwarden.
