Explore the Kampina nature reserve from Boxtel

From Boxtel you can drive to the Kampina in no time. But first you cross the Dommeldal, after which you can take a look at Castle Stapelen. The oldest mention of this castle dates back to 1293, since 1915 it has been used as a monastery by the Assumptionists. A little later you see the forests of the Kampina appear on the horizon. The deeper you drive into this nature reserve, the quieter it becomes. Grab a bench and enjoy the view over the heath. You might spot the herd of Icelandic horses grazing here in the distance. Just past junction 90 you drive along the Dal van de Beerze for a while. You can get off at the Jacobushof for a pit stop with an extensive lunch. You drive back to the starting point via Lennisheuvel.
