Explore the Kampina nature reserve from Boxtel

Your route starts at De Koekenbakker. First you drive through Landgoed Velder, a wetland that is connected to the Kampina nature reserve by nature development. Soon you see the forests of the Kampina appear on the horizon. The deeper you drive into this nature reserve, the quieter it becomes. Grab a bench and enjoy the view over the heath. Perhaps you will see the herd of Icelandic horses grazing here in the distance. At junction 9 you cycle a bit along the Dal van de Beerze. You cycle back via Boxtel. Here you cross the Dommeldal, after which you can take a look at Kasteel Stapelen. The oldest mention of this castle dates back to 1293, since 1915 it has been used as a monastery by the Assumptionists.
