Description

Your cycling route starts at Eetcafé Aan de Kirk in Horn. First take a look at the other side of the road, here you have a beautiful view of Horn Castle. It is one of the oldest, still intact ring wall castles in the Netherlands. Then you cycle straight into the Leudal nature reserve, an authentic and green stream valley. The Leudal is intersected by the meandering Tungelroyse Beek, locally called the Leubeek. You will find a variety of wet and dry forests. Via Baexem you drive to Kelpen and Grathem, where you will encounter the stream a few more times. The Beegderheide is a nature reserve rich in relief where you will find heathlands, drifting sand remains and fens. The rare phegea butterfly occurs in large numbers on the heath. You might even come across the herd of Kempen sheep!
